Manufacturers in Italy have traditionally outsourced distribution
and marketing of their products. But as consumers world-wide look
for more specialized, one-to-one services when shopping, the traditional
distribution paradigm is starting to lose focus. For Italian manufacturers
this is complicated by two key issues:
1. Customer relationship management is left to
outside marketers and distributors.
2. Developed, high-cost countries, such as Italy,
are losing production capacity to newly emerging, low-cost producers.

Today, the roles of distributor -- managing logistics, finding
retailers in diverse markets, transportation, etc. - and of marketer
result in a major gap between manufacturer and customer and this
is where the creation and implementation of "personalized service"
occurs.
Manufacturers need to take ownership of these roles to ensure "personalized
service" to the customer. Telamon Communications
can manage or assist the client in-house with their e-commerce needs
from consulting and project management to development of the actual
store.
