What is the prognosis for Internet use in Italy?

Smau estimates that by 2006 around 32 million people, 55% of the population, will have Internet access. Italy will be slightly behind western Europe with 68% penetration. About 19 million consumers will be shopping online and e-commerce sales will reach 34,5 billion euro. This will be a 762,5% increase over 2002 e-commerce sales.
